In the mid-17th Century twenty-three Jewish people emigrated to America from Recife. Brazil. Here is documentation of those men and women who were members of the first Jewish community in America (in the 17th & 18th C), what they did in life and who are now buried here in New York. Each list is topped with a stone, indicating the presence of the viewer.
